It has been confirmed by EA Sports that Arsenal Winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Manchester City Goalkeeper Joe Hart will be on the UK Fifa 13 cover. EA made the announcement officially on the social networking website Twitter today Monday 20th August.
It is not surprising to many with the performances that both players produced last season for their respected clubs. Many predicted that it would be Manchester United’s Robin Van Persie on the front cover of the UK version. Alex Oxlade-Ohamberlain said on Twitter “i play Fifa on my PS3 quite often so i’m so happy to be part of this.”
The big money deals puts an end to Wayne Rooney’s long term contract that he had with EA Sports. They will both join the already signed up Lionel Messi on the UK cover. Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain also said “I have been very keen on Fifa video games since i was six years of age, being on the cover is a massive honour for me.”
The seven year relationship with Fifa and Wayne Rooney finally came to an abrupt end this season. EA have wished Rooney all the very best for the future but decided that it was best for both parties to now go their own way.
